Grammar Based Test Data

Grammar Based Test Data creates random text from bracketed phrase patterns, useful for lightweight test data generation.

Instructions
  • Expand the "Enter Your Grammar Data Here" section to create a new definition.
  • A grammar definition is a set of lines in the text area
  • Each line can have optional phrases which are csv text in square brackets e.g. [never, only, ever]
  • One phrase in the csv will be randomly chosen for the generated line
  • You can have multiple csv phrase groups in each grammar line
  • Use "" for a deliberate blank option
  • Use Clean spacing and punctuation when optional blanks or punctuation leave untidy output
  • When generating data, one line will be chosen at random
